The Technical Response Unit was established to deploy in-field technology solutions that support the District’s 911 response to major and critical incidents. The unit also actively supports specialized deployments within the District’s Special Operations teams, as well as regional partners such as Urban Search and Rescue (US&R), Hazmat, and SWAT.
Deployable technology assets include drones, critical data infrastructure systems, a mobile technology command trailer, and other innovative field technologies. These resources are designed to enhance situational awareness, improve operational efficiency, and increase the safety of both responders and the communities they serve.
Through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the St. Charles County Police Department, many of these response capabilities have been integrated into a unified support model for public safety. This collaborative framework spans Police, Fire, EMS, SWAT, Bomb Squad, Emergency Management Agency (EMA), and Crime Scene Investigation (CSI) teams—promoting a comprehensive, multi-disciplinary approach to critical incident response.
