In August 2018, residents in St. Charles County overwhelmingly approved St. Charles County Ambulance District’s [SCCAD] general obligation bond issue, Proposition Ambulance, by a wide margin. This approval put into motion the District’s 10-Year Capital Improvement Plan [CIP], which was developed by SCCAD’s Leadership Team and approved by the Board of Directors in the months leading up to the election.
Like any long-range strategy, the SCCAD CIP requires regular evaluation to ensure that projects planned at strategic intervals continue to align with both the District’s goals & objectives, and with real-time call volume data regularly evaluated utilizing software system called Mobile Area Routing and Vehicle Location Information System [MARVLIS]. External factors such as land acquisition and raw material costs also can have bearing on the timeline of capital purchases and construction projects. With all of this in mind, we’re presenting to our community a revised version of the 10-year CIP, highlighting a handful of changes that have been made since the document’s preparation over three years ago.
