St. Charles County plays host to scores of events throughout the year – 5ks, bike races, marching band battles, and a host of other happenings occur regularly within our community. If your gathering is expected to draw a large crowd or involves a strenuous activity, SCCAD will make every effort to send a unit, if requested.
Events of this nature are handled by on-duty units, meaning they are still in-service and available for 9-1-1 emergencies. Crew may arrive late or need leave the event early depending on call volume in the area.
Standby requests are generally limited to two hours. For longer events, the unit(s) in the area will try to stop in several times throughout the day depending on call volume. Please note that submitting a request for standby service does not guarantee coverage – each event will be reviewed individually.
